Airbrushes

Postby Tommen » Monday 19th March, 2012 12:30 am

I've been looking into buying an airbrush and a compressor recently, having read that single action airbrushes are a waste of time and more costly in the long run after buying cans of compressed air. I've seen several on eBay between £15 and £100odd, how much should I be looking to spend for a beginner-level airbrush? I don't want to spend £15 to find out that it's useless but I also probably don't need a £100 brush for painting a bit of camo or anything else I would use it for.

To be honest £15 for an airbrush is probably fine, that's about how much mine was when i started (then I promptly dropped it, broke the needle and bought a £30 one... )

You'll be able to use it for camo just fine, and for finer details if you're patient enough. Secondly, if you do decide to go for a more expensive one later, you can still use the cheap one for more basic applications. Also, go for something gravity fed, as they tend to waste less paint.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting an airbrush and compressor, mainly for painting flames of war camo.

Can anyone recommend any? :|

I use this one:

If you do a search for airbrush on ebay you'll get loads of hits.
