WW2 Campaign

Postby noodle » Monday 6th January, 2014 11:07 am

Hey all,

The campaign starts around the end of October 1943, with Kursk over and the allies having landed in Italy. The campaign works the same way as the 40k campaign (squares & modifiers) but you need complete control of a "sea" to conduct an invasion. Time will be narrative, so each battle will roughly advance the timeline on by a week...

People are quite welcome to play mid or late war games of FoW. I like mid war as it actually allows my army to function, but I can also do late war by mixing my model collection. I've no intention of buying any more models!

The allies will win if they can end the war on or before May 1945. After that its an axis win.

More information to come but the campaign is ready to go.

America may be turning up late to the war (as usual).

The Suomalainen Siirtoarmeija (Finnish Expeditionary Army) will hopefully be ready soon, despite the fact that Helsinki isn't a supply centre on the map!

Rather than a long running campaign I'm thinking campaign events or re fights, fought over one or two sessions. The first I'd like to plan for 7th March

Thinking of an Arnhem big game and other games on that Saturday - big game flames of war. Smaller bolt action ones too...

Sign me up for the defense of the Nederland. Campaign events sounds like a better idea then a standard map based campaign. Are these going to be linked together, like a flow campaign, so battles will influence future events or will they be stand-alone?

Not sure if they will be stand alone or linked. For now we shall likely fight Arnhem, then Battle of Bulge after Easter as stand alone. We may want to do something more linked later.
