Giant Gothic Game

Postby Namhaft » Tuesday 18th November, 2014 7:31 pm

Already discussed it with a few of you. Thinking of doing a giant Gothic Game on 29/11. Might have to be an early start.
Imperials vs Chaos and orks.
1500pt fleets each.
Post the faction you want to play for so we can balance it.

my suggestion is Chaos+Ork vs. Imperial.

If there are more than 3 per side we can have 2 games :)

For now we should stick to 1500pt fleets per person and see how we get on.

I declare 1500 for the Imperium!

I also have fleets to lend as follows:

3x 1500pt fleets available to lend
2x 1500pt fleets available to lend*

*Unless Tim takes "Lord Tragean" in which case it will be 1.

If I was around I'd play Imperial, but I probably won't be there.

I'll steal Duncan's fleet

Orks are too slow for big games so I'll probably sit this one out unless needed to balance the sides out.

So we have I think:

Sam/Tim/Tom for chaos

Duncan/Nik/Ben* for the imperium

*Assuming he is up for it, he is aware but I'll need to confirm

What happened to Dave? Mike K? I'll bring my entire fleet anyway. 1500 points each but if we get a +1 we can manage 4v3 with my fleet to balance things.

Suggest get there at 11 for a start at 12.

Sounds good.

Sadly Gotterdammerung still hasn't arrived in the post :( so unless something happens today/tomorrow it looks like it'll be my normal fleet.

Rules for the game:

Restrictions: Nova cannons must be 1 per 500 or fewer.

Setup: Fleets set up one player at a time (not ships) alternately > 60cm apart on the long edges of the board.

Scenery: To be setup by the GM. Bastien - target planet, will be in the middle of the board.

Ending the game: The game lasts 10 turns or 6 hours or equal turns as agreed by all players or until one side withdraws.

Victory Points: Normal victory points with the following exceptions:
- Control Bastien: Sum of ships points within 30cm of Bastien (surface) > twice the enemy (crippled ships count 1/2) = 1000 points
- Partially control Bastien: Sum of ships within 30cm of Bastien (surface) > enemy total (not 2x) = 500 points

Disengaging: Ships may disengage as normal
