Good job on the extra space, shame we couldn't get room at Warhammer World, but it'll save my wallet some beating on FW stuff.

I can bring extra alliance toys down if folks want to use them.

Also we should bring a box of scenery each so we don't clean the society out (!)

A summary of sides Imperium vs Alliance following last weekends preliminary discussions. As I understand it, so far we have:

Imperium
Duncan; IG
Mike Kelly; IG +/- Ravenguard allies
Tom R; Space Sharks
Ian P; Space Wolves

Any others? Possibly Sam with IG Infantry? Nik with Space Marines?

Alliance
Sam; Tau
Rick; Tau
Ian W; Eldar
Connor; Tau/Eldar allies
Helen; Corsairs

Any others? Possibly Tom with Tau/Eldar? Dan with Eldar? Nik with Eldar? Nik with Tau?

Tom is playing his Taudar.

Ed and Sam are lined up to be on the Imperial side.

I'm sure Nik will do as he wants to ;)

My understanding at the moment from Imperial PoV is:

Me
Mike
Tom
Ian P
Scanham
Ed
Sam
Possibly 1 other

The intention is two apocalypse games, 8000 per side, scenarios to be set up before you pick who goes on what table... Each side needs an overall commander. I can't be for Imperium because I'm effectively GMing partially. It can be a committee but one person has to be the warlord.

Just to clarify: is it that each faction has a Warlord, or each 8000point army?

Only, I'm thinking a single warlord overseeing two games could end up dashing between two tables. Which could be fun, but knowing Apocalypse, could just slow things down even more.

Perhaps the Warlord/players appoint a 2iC to the other table?

UPDATE

Games
- I still plan to run 2 tables with 8000pts a side with whoever is there at 11am. PLEASE GET THERE ON TIME! Both games will be on ZADOC between the Imperium and the Alliance.
- Each game will be set up by me with rules on the day. Warlords will appoint their commanders on each table and assign 8000pts and an equal (or as close as) number of players per side. Armies may be split as the warlord sees fit, but army lists may not be broken up.
- Each game will have strategic assets so they may duplicated across tables.
- Reserves must be allocated to the table at the beginning (we are running effectively 2 independent apocalypses)

Timing
- Games will start at 12. We should be able to run a turn per 90 mins, so "break" will be after 2 turns at 3. Then we will continue until break after turn 4 which should be 6:30. Turn 5 will be 7-8 then packup. (this has been tested at WW with similar sides).

Outcomes
- If the alliance win both games, they will get the same as 5+5 (10) standard wins + mods. If the games are won by >2x VPs then its a 5 3pt wins per game, plus 10x the mod difference. In addition to this the imperium will suffer an immediate -3 to tau on mods (maxed).
- If the imperium win both games the tau invasion of Zadoc will be defeated. In addition the tau will suffer a -3 mod to imperium and the larger win will count in points towards the invasion of a tau world (but can only be used once the imperium successfully win a game against the alliance). Future alliance wins can erode this number if so wished.
- If the results are split, the net result is applied to Zadoc (difference in points) plus 5 times the mod difference if appropriate.

Players
- Still somewhat uncertain. However bring more than 2k points if you can in case we need to play 3 a side instead. It may be we have a 3 on 4 (no matter).

Balance
- It occurs the Eldar/Tau have the stronger codexes. The imperial will be given one extra strategic asset per table in the form of mission specific items.

Remember we also have the Gallery Eye and Meeting Room 1 for non-apocalypse players :) It would be helpful to have as few "observers" as possible so that we can stick to timings! :P

Result: On the fortress table (Ian, Tom, Sam W vs. Duncan, Ian P, Sam, Andy) - DEFENSIVE = 37-25 to Alliance...

On the normal board (Tom, Mike, Ed vs. Rick, Nik, Connor, Helen) - 13-8 to alliance...

Whinging levels low to moderate...

Overall effect is the tau get a moderate advance taking Chettalo and Antolovi, but the advance into Mascatta (south) is not overwhelming. The imperial line is not broken, but casualties were monstrous in the south :D
