question, the LAR’SHI STANDARD VASH’YA CONFIGURATION and the LAR’SHI TOLKU CONFIGURATION cost the same points, and have identical stats, except LAR’SHI TOLKU CONFIGURATION has stronger rail guns (lance batteries i think), why are they the same points or have i missed something?

The standard pattern has 2 lances at range 30, the other pattern has 4 weapons batteries at range 45.

Lances are generally considered to be better as they always hit on a 4+ and gun batteries are affected by range boundaries and so on

no, the range given is the maximum range of your shooting, so your gun batteries in this case have a maximum range of 45 and your lances max range is 30. The major difference is with the Gun Battery table, that determines how many dice you roll when firing your batteries, where as with Lances you get a number of shots equal to the number of lances.

If you're around this Saturday, I'll go through it whilst we are playing the big Gothic game.

In addition to the big gothic game there will likely be a couple of smaller games going on. Are you the one who is going to be playing phillapa? If so I can walk you through things and might well have my own tau fleet along with me.
40k: Tau (gothic, AI), Tyranids (NetEpic, gothic), Dark Angels
WFB: Skaven (uncharted seas)
Also Played: Warmachine/Hordes, Infinity, Flames of War

Yeah I think in a strange move there will be at least 12 of us brining Gothic, and though 8 of those are for the big game I'm not in that so will give anyone a game if they want.

Rick, I've arranged for a guy to teach me to play tonight so I'll know what I'm doing even if I'm not dishing out major damage. If it's only chaos vs imperial I've got the rules so will know what to expect. All I need is my opponenet to be a bit patient and I should be fine. I drew against Chris's tank eating scarabs last week, that's not too bad going for only 6 weeks playing with a new army/set of rules is it? ;)

we might be a bit "light" on counters this saturday - i recommend people go to the GW website and download them. Get printing and cutting!

I would also recommend printing lots of blast markers rather than asteroids - so get using ms paint as well
