The minor games bulletin board thread

Postby Rick » Wednesday 1st February, 2012 9:36 pm

Whilst you can just turn up with 40k or WFB and get a game that doesn't work so well with the multitude of minor games systems played within the society. As a result they tend to go through brief periods of enthusiasm as people actively organise games and then it drops off.

I'd like to play more of the smaller games and I thought it would be easier to promote them within the society if people knew what others were bringing so they can bring down their own stuff with reasonable expectation of a game. So I thought I'd show some initiative and create this thread as a venue for co-ordinating what people are bringing. How I see this working is if two players organise a game they can post in this thread so that anyone else wanting to play that system can bring their stuff along as well. Or if you haven't arranged a game at the previous meeting you can just post here and see if anyone else is interested.

The main systems I'm thinking of are: Gothic, Aeronautica Imperialis, Uncharted Seas, Warmachine/Hordes and Infinity. There's also a load of other systems which people have stuff for but aren't being actively played right now (Epic, Blood Bowl, Flames of War, Malifaux) and variations of other systems (kill team) which can be arranged on here. Don't be put off posting just because someone has arranged for another system already that week. Ongoing stuff like the warhammer escalation campaign can be taken as read.

I normally bring Uncharted Seas with me as standard and Chris usually has warmachine with him regardless.

****

OK, I'll start. This week (4th February) some of use have arranged to bring along gothic.
40k: Tau (gothic, AI), Tyranids (NetEpic, gothic), Dark Angels
WFB: Skaven (uncharted seas)
Also Played: Warmachine/Hordes, Infinity, Flames of War

Well I'll be bringing gothic, ai, 40k and warhammer, oh and uncharted seas every week now as I've sorted my cases. It's heavy but doable!

FoW. I do miss it actually. Thinking of a summer campaign.

Don't forget, uncharted seas, gothic, kill team and ai count for their respective campaigns, and add a lot of flavour too...

I can't promise to bring Gothic initially every week, but as I live so close to the union its not an issue for me to nip home and grab it if people want a game.

I enjoyed last weeks, so it'll be there again this week!

Epic!!!!!!!!!!

A while ago I discovered the fan based update to 2nd Ed Space Marine (definitely the best version and now called Net Epic, http://www.netepic.org/netepic.html) along with the section on Tactical Command to discuss the updates/changes http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewforum.php?f=14.

At some point I plan to bring my Epic stuff over to give Ian a game with these new rules. When I get a free weekend I will be loading up all the mini men and popping over.

Also, anyone interested in Battletech?

As always I am interested in setting up games of warmachine especially now the new scenarios for 2012 have been released, which can be found here

http://privateerpress.com/files/SR2012% ... 20V1.2.pdf

as well as the new league rules and fluff

http://privateerpress.com/files/War-Tor ... Gnarls.pdf

I know we dont have enough players for a league but using some of the league models rules might be fun and the fluff is generally pretty good. So anyway I think chris is away this week but if anyone else wants a game let me know and I will bring stuff down.

Gothic seems to be popular!

Next week I have a 40k scheduled, and will have 500 warhammer, but I'd like a re-intro to uncharted seas...

Afraid I wont be able to make it down for the next couple of weeks but I hope the warmachine and hordes keeps going. I've managed to pick up a second hand copy of the escalation expansion off e-bay, the one with the campaign system in it. At first glance it looks pretty good so maybe we can think about setting something up.

I know there is a big Apocalypse game being planned for the 19th, but I was wondering if anyone else who isn't playing in it would be interested in some NetEpic?

I am planning on hitting up Triples for a few hours on Saturday first then popping down the union for some games from about mid afternoon. So let me know if you fancy pushing some 6mm men about.
