Hi Lads from the GIMPS

Postby paulus » Friday 12th April, 2013 4:42 pm

Hi lads....I'm Paul Clarke from the Sheffield and Rotherham Wargames club (GIMPS)...once upon a time I used to play some very good WW2 campaigns lead by Duncan (Noodle?)....it would be nice if Duncan, Rick, sam and any of you lot fancy coming down to the GIMPS HQ (Farm Rd Club)....we play all systems and have plenty of terrain....the trouble is we are all getting a little bit old in the tooth and alot of us play Historical games :D ....it would be good to see younger members who play GW/warmachine games coming to the GIMPS....we meet on Thursday nights and have a very good central location that is near the Student Village on Granville Rd :D .....this post is not a poaching one....more of a friendley invite for any of you lads to come and have a game.....the Farm Rd Club is also trying to attract more Students to it premises....cheap beer etc :D ....also the Farm rd Club is very good for other gaming prospects....boardgames mini convention , tournament etc

thanks for having me :D ....hopefully Duncan will manage to find the time to get back in touch :D

I might have to come down at some point, mainly for the historical games though, to practice FoW and hopefully learn the rules properly and give me an excuse to buy and paint up some little knights if there is a nice system for them :D
An extra day of wargames each week is never a bad thing :)

Hi Paul! :)

For anyone interested their web site is http://www.sr-wargamers.co.uk/. Because their meetings take place after work and time is more limited its usually best to arrange games in advance on their forum. I'd particularly recommend a visit for those who play warmachine/hordes, flames of war and warhammer as they have a lot of people who play these games.

I'll probably be along again during the summer period when we don't have rooms and I need my wargames fix :)
40k: Tau (gothic, AI), Tyranids (NetEpic, gothic), Dark Angels
WFB: Skaven (uncharted seas)
Also Played: Warmachine/Hordes, Infinity, Flames of War

I'd defo be up for popping along. I'd probably be looking to play 40k, at least until I get round to building my ogres.

Do you have Malifaux players?

Hi Paul! Yes it would be good to play Thursdays- and to catch up in general.

For our new(er) society members, I would highly recommend these guys. I haven't visited since the GIMPS moved premises/I moved from Sheffield, but they're a good fun bunch.

I'd be up for coming down on occasion (I do other things some Thursdays), assuming games of WFB could be found.

Hi Paul!

Sadly at present my Thursdays are busy, but that may change at some point or I could come every 2 weeks. I'd love to run a 40k campaign at GIMPS

Or maybe we could do another FoW campaign like last one, with Sam as the fuehrer again? :D
